When an aesthetic becomes familiar, it can begin to seem like the only possibility. We find it in the objects we choose, the clothes we wear and the homes we inhabit. The Cromatica film brings different visual worlds together and raises a question: how much room do we still leave for colour?
A neutral interior can express a deliberate, personal choice. Colour offers other possibilities: it draws attention to a wall, changes the relationship between furnishings and accompanies the light. Elegance also emerges from these combinations, from the balance with which each element meets the others.
Cromatica continues Brera’s exploration of raw earth and opens it to five colour directions: Cotto, Cipria, Ambra, Salvia and Petrolio. The presence of material meets colour, offering a starting point for imagining an entire interior.
Choosing a surface therefore means considering what will sit beside it. Wood, fabric or metal can bring out different nuances. Decorative designs offer another means of expression: a rhythm, a movement, a detail that meets the light and gives a wall its character.
The film’s juxtaposition invites us to look again at what we choose. A home can feel intimate or bright, pared back or rich in detail. Colour is part of this freedom of composition.
Cromatica. Make room for colour.
